Hello, this is Hidori 😊
Every time I travel to Jeju, I try to explore somewhere new.
On this trip, I finally visited a place that—surprisingly—I had never been to before.

I stayed at a hotel near Cheonjiyeon (Crystal Hotel), and from my room window…
I could literally see the waterfall area.
So after dinner, just to help digestion,
I went for a casual little walk 🚶♂️
And that’s how I ended up at Cheonjiyeon Falls,
one of Jeju’s three most famous waterfalls.
Honestly, the name felt so familiar that I assumed,
“Everyone must have already been here.”
But once I actually visited…
👉 I couldn’t stop thinking, “Why did I wait this long?”

The Walk to the Waterfall Is Already Healing 🌿
My first impression was this:
“The path to the waterfall is already a healing experience.”
From the entrance, the walking trail is beautifully maintained.
It’s stroller-friendly, flat, and very easy to walk.
It takes about 5 minutes to reach the ticket gate,
and along the way you’ll find:
- A small rest area
- Gentle flowing water sounds
- The fresh scent of forest air

A Protected Natural Ecosystem
Around the falls, you’ll see:
- Castanopsis trees
- Daphniphyllum
- Camellia trees
This area is home to Jeju’s subtropical plant ecosystem,
and the forest and pond here are officially protected as a Natural Monument.
The pond water is incredibly clear—
there were ducks swimming calmly,
making it impossible not to stop and stare for a while.

Reaching Cheonjiyeon Falls 🌊
After about 15 minutes of walking,
you finally arrive at the main attraction.
“Cheonjiyeon (天地淵)” literally means:
👉 “The pond where heaven and earth meet.”
- Height: ~22 meters
- Width: ~12 meters
- Pond depth: up to 20 meters
Standing in front of it,
you naturally grow quiet.
There’s also a legend about seven heavenly maidens descending to bathe here—
and once you see the scenery,
it honestly doesn’t feel exaggerated at all.
If you’re lucky,
you might even catch a small rainbow forming in front of the falls.
👉 Trust me—
it looks far more impressive in real life than in photos.

Why Cheonjiyeon Falls Is a “Textbook” Jeju Spot
This isn’t just a place where you:
“See one waterfall and leave.”

It’s a complete package:
✔️ Dense forest
✔️ Deep, crystal-clear pond
✔️ Well-designed walking paths
✔️ Rare and protected ecology
All of this comes together beautifully,
making Cheonjiyeon Falls feel like a model example of Seogwipo sightseeing.

Perfect for Everyone 👨👩👧👦🐕
Because it doesn’t take long to explore,
it’s ideal as a short stop between other plans.
Parents, kids, seniors, and even pets
can all enjoy this place comfortably.

I’ve heard most people visit Cheonjiyeon Falls on school trips—but somehow, I missed out back then 😅
Still, better late than never.

Final Thoughts
Cheonjiyeon Falls isn’t a place you visit just because it’s famous.
It’s a place that genuinely makes you feel good once you’re there.
For a small entrance fee of 2,000 won,
you get one of the most satisfying nature walks in Seogwipo.

Next time I’m in Jeju?
I’ll definitely be back 😊
